Victor and Candice Thomas were married in 2007 in their hometown of Cape Town, South Africa. Shortly
afterward, they moved to Metro Vancouver, BC to do a short-term research exchange at Simon Fraser Uni-
versity. Although they were committed to returning to South Africa to assist with poverty issues there, God
began to work in both of their hearts concerning the spiritual poverty that surrounded them  in Metro Van-
couver. As they surrendered to God’s calling, He opened the door for Victor to assume the role of pastor of
The Point. Victor and Candice are continually driven to see individuals all over Metro Vancouver know what
authentic spirituality looks like. To this end,The Point is beginning to pave the way for future church plants on
and around university campuses in Metro Vancouver. In June of 2011, the Thomas’ welcomed their first child,
Caleb Thomas, into the family, and now God is beginning to open more doors to family and children’s ministry
as well.

Kim arrived in Vancouver in February 2009 and began attending The Point Community Church shortly after.
She quickly felt a part of the The Point family and immediately got involved with the ministries there.  In 2010,
she became co-leader of The Point’s Justice team and a member of The Point Leadership team. Kim has been on Staff since the summer of 2012.  Since graduating from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2006, she has done a Journeyman term with the IMB in Guadalajara, Mexico, and an ISC term in Vancouver, working with missionary  kids and newly appointed church planters.

Born in Seoul, Korea into a pastor’s family, Samwoo and his family moved to Vancouver when he was 16. Short-
ly after turning 21, he found himself totally transformed by the Word of God. This encounter with God became
the turning point in his life, and God began to open doors for him to share the gospel with others. Samwoo has
been involved with Langley Somang Church (Langley, BC) and Korean Campus for Christ ministry at Simon Fraser
University. It was here that he found God calling him to a life in ministry. Samwoo joined The Point staff in January
2012, serving in the area of discipleship. His hope is to see believers, who do not truly experience God’s grace on
a daily basis, walk intimately with Him and experience true fellowship with Jesus Christ.
