This year we are so thankful for everyone’s involvement by filling boxes for the 5th Operation Christmas Child and 3rd Metrobox collection. Thank you Point Church, SFU, and UniverCity for filling boxes. Thank you Nester’s Market, University Highlands Elementary, and Interfaith Centre for being collection centres. We sent 23 generous boxes to distant corners of the world through Operation Christmas Child and 63 fun-filled boxes to children in Metro Vancouver through the MetroBox program (See photos below)!
The MetroBox program is an original, home-grown, Point Church initiative. We recycle left over Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, fill them with appropriate gifts, and distribute locally.
Love God – Love People – Serve All
The Burnaby Neighbourhood House is a place where families and individuals can come to get support and services; a place where new immigrants become connected and can find information and resources that will help them settle into their new community; where people come together in activities and events that aim to link generations and cultures and create a stronger community.
Douglas College Financial Aid gives Christmas Hampers to many students with children. The hamper includes a gift for each child in the student’s family and gifts certificate to Superstore. This year, the Point Church gifted 12 children through Douglas College.
Collingwood Neighbourhood House provides families with a full range of high quality licensed full-time and part-time child care (early learning and care) programs for immigrant families.
